Bush Psyops Posted by Logos, 03/22/05, 01:50pm. Comments (2)
Let's begin with some background reading... The Deceptions of War by Rit Nosotro Change Over Time essay Last updated:02/02/2005 10:39:00 from
Beginning with Gideon’s trumpets, up through the Trojan Horse, and continuing through “Operation Fortitude” of WWII, describe some of the major deceptions, psychological-warfare, and propaganda techniques used in warfare.
Operation Fortitude Early in 1944, the Allies put into motion this scheme and launched a massive propaganda campaign to deceive the Germans into thinking the Allies would land in Calais, France. The decoy mission was named “Operation Fortitude”. Its objective centered on keeping the Germans entirely confused as to when and where the Allied forces were to invade France. By using inflatable rubber tanks, plywood artillery, and an assigned group of trucks driving endlessly back and forth along the same road, the allies were able to actually convinced the German spy network that the invasion was going to take place in Pas-de-Calais. They placed the notoriously tough U.S. General George Patton in Dover, England, where the army was allegedly positioned, in order to convince the Axis command that the false army existed. To top it all off, the allies had a group of radio technicians clutter the radio with fake messages from units of troops that did not exist. The decoy mission ended up being a total success, and to prove it the German planners and tacticians, along with Hitler himself, still thought the landing at Normandy (155,000 troops) were decoys to take firepower away from Pas-de-Calais. 3
The ruse or feint is an honored military tradition, extraordinarily effective if employed by intelligent determined men against dogmatic shallow thinking adversaries. In fact, Psyops was credited in Operation Desert Storm for saving thousands of Coalition Forces lives while keeping the Iraqi Military in a constant state of confusion. Said Major Peter Whitenak, USM, in his Executive Summary to Congress on Psyops: "The Persian Gulf War has shown that psychological operations are more than just a "minor appendage to military operations." (9:9) Clausewitz saw war as "an act of force to compel our adversary to do our will; .. .to impose our will upon the enemy is the object." (14.3) In a world where the potential for simultaneous involvement of U.S. forces in more than one conflict is not unlikely, and at a time when we are experiencing a seemingly irreversible reduction in force, perhaps more attention to PSYOPS and its proper application is warranted. Regardless of the environment and level of conflict intensity, it would seem prudent to explore this possibility further, and expand the lessons of the Persian Gulf War PSYOP campaign to facilitate future operations, integrated with this proven force multiplier (emphasis added).
BUSH PSYOPS BY LOGOS President George Bush is currently using this military tactic of ruse, deception, and Psyops against a remarkably dogmatic, shallow thinking, reactionary opponent: The Democratic Party of the 109th Congress. The Democrats, not unlike the Iraqis is Gulf Storm, or the German's in the ruse at Calais, have shown themselves to be extraordinarily impressionable to Psyops strategies. The dogmatization and radicalization of the Democratic party over the last 20 years has created a psychological phenomena of capitulation, intellectual reductionism, and mass think-speak. This De facto radicalization has led to a party whose members are afraid to speak freely because of the negative consequences of the party elite, so, even formerly bold free thinkers (excluding Zell Miller) such as John Glenn of Ohio and Governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico "watch their back" when they make statements on policy. This has led to a Party afraid to think and express themselves freely, locked in by PC speak and leftist ideology that has resulted in a perfect opponent for President Bush and the Republican Party to dominate with Psyops strategy.
BUSH'S STRATEGY: SOCIAL SECURITY FEINT The Social Security issue was picked precisely because the Republican strategists knew the radicalized left wing of the Democratic party would mobilize all it's resources to combat any change, even though the Democratic Party guru, Bill Clinton, made it clear in the 90's that it would eventually go bankrupt and needed reform. The radicalization of the Party has led to a defensive mass reactionary "mind think" that Social Security is in reality "just fine" and with a few tweaks here and there Social Security can be made whole forever and ever. With the Party members now on board with the correct party line, without the freedom to explore or debate options, the Republicans have their first key to the puzzle to control the 109th Congress.
Bush's Republican strategic think tank, Carl Rove, Condy Rice, Cheney, Rumsfeld and others, see the Social Security issue as the lightning rod issue that will galvanize the radicals of the Democratic power elite. It is on this issue that the Republicans will hope to immobilize their opponent, in a constant barrage of Social Security media blitzes, Bush town hall meetings, and friendly "offers" to discuss any reasonable plan with the Democrats. The dogmatic radicalized opponents - paralyzed by Party mass "think-speak" - have failed to recognize the Republican feint. Bush and the boys are throwing meat to a rabid jackal, and while the Democrat's are howling and thrashing at the proposed changes in Social Security (which Bush will win in some fashion, anyhow), the Republicans are having their way and will continue to have their way in the 109th Congress. To whit:
Tort Reform, Tax Reform, Judicial Nominee Reform, Judicial Reform (legislating from the bench), Military Restructuring and Strengthening, Immigration Reform, Strengthening War on Terror, and on and on.
Meanwhile, back on the ranch, Kennedy, Pelosi, Reid, Schumer, Kerry and the other Democratic power brokers are bracing their mindless troops for the big attack on Social Security. Like the mentally constipated Iraqis and Germans in Kuwait and France, the radicalized PC-bound left of the Democratic Party can't for the life of them see where the real attack is coming: Reform legislation in the 109th Congress.
Bush, Rove, Rice, Cheney et al. have utilized brilliantly the art of deception and psychological manipulation of their opponent. The radicalization of the Democratic Party with the subsequent loss of dissent and free expression has created a myopic Party that cannot perceive long-term strategies. They focus on the "emotional immediate" and do not realize the feint being foisted on them by the Republican Party to accomplish their long-term goals.

1: Carl W. Goss March 23, 2005 11:37am EST The deception, if any, is being carried out by the GOP, who, in the name of saving Social Security, in fact, want to abolish it. The repeal of the New Deal has been the Holy Grail of the far right for many years, but they can't really come out and say it.
No, they and their allies in the rightist media and the think tanks, speak only of "reforming" it.
Some reform.
But privatization (at least the way it has been presented) is just one step towards eventual abolition. There is a lot of deception going on, but most people are not fooled.
Mr. Bush and the privatizers are going to lose on this one - big time.
{Logos: Like Medicaid and Welfare, Social Security is an entitlement boondoggle of the so-called "Great Society" or should I say "Great Failure" and should be abolished along with 90% of the worthless Federal Government. This "commie-lite" crap has to stop. Redistribution of wealth as a social experiment is an abysmal historical failure, and the history books are chock full of examples. Maybe it's time we put down the Manifesto and read a little reality.}
2: Alex Carbaugh March 28 2005 2:00pm EST If you think this is true, Bush has put for more effort into his Social Security decoy than the Allies put into Operation Fortitude. As for Mr. Goss, what planet do you live on? Those of you that walk around with this malevolent image of Bush plotting the end to all things good and decent need to get your head checked.
{Logos: There you have it.}
