Betrayed Conservatives

Aslan, I have to take exception with your statement: "I like and respect our betrayed colleagues, except they have never been betrayed! They went to a football game expecting a tennis match."  We BR went to a football game, completely expecting a football game, arguably promised a football game, by a guy in pads, and ended up at the ballet. He’s making decisions that help his friends abroad or his own interests, and giving America away to unskilled and uneducated social leeches, who I might add will no longer be willing to work at "guest worker" wages when they have every right and privilege as you and me. Then we’re just stuck with more social programs to feed and heal our new "citizens." This is just baloney. What’s he thinking?

We want OUR country back, with complete disregard or interest for those who wish to own OUR property and businesses or live on OUR land. We don’t want to be forced to learn Spanish. We don’t want to have to respect anyone else’s cultural idiosyncrasies. We don’t want to become a minority, in both numbers and culture, in our own country. Diversity only goes so far before it becomes offensive. If I want to see people on rugs praying, I’ll call my travel agent. Not in my backyard. We don’t want this immigration and global economy give-away to rot OUR country from the inside out like a cancer. When they’ve taken over it’ll be hell to get back.

On top of that, please stop calling me a Betrayed Republican. I just wish to be known as Conservative. The Republican Party is no longer the conservative party.

{Aslan: I  called you a Betrayed Conservative.  I am uncomfortable arguing with you on the immigration issue, because the administration’s position is difficult to defend.  But you miss the point.  The point is not that they have made and are making policy mistakes; the point is that your expectations were unrealistically high.  You and others like you engaged the political process to promote conservative policy. Your freaking out now as if the end of the world is near, and your abandonment of the cause that has made progress accomplishes absolutely nothing to address the issue you speak so passionately about above.}
